Holy Day of Obligation

This Thursday, May 17th is the Ascension of the Lord, a Holy Day of Obligation for all Catholics. 
Masses at OLMC: 
Vigil Mass on Wednesday, May 16th at 7PM
Holy Day Mass on Thursday, May 17th at 12 Noon and 7PM. 
Please make plans to attend one of these masses to fulfill your obligation.

 VBS is Back!!!!

OLMC Vacation Bible School is scheduled for August 6th-10th from 9AM-12 Noon. 
This year’s theme is
Shake-It-Up Café .  All children up to and including 6th grade are welcome.

Festival Flea Market

Drop off dates for donated items will be May 22nd from 6-8PM and June 5th from 6-8PM.  Check your homes for unwanted or unused items and bring them in.  We are accepting all household items including furniture, knick knacks, books, kitchenware, toys, antiques, bicycles, small exercise equipment such as weights and most other kinds of items.  Sorry, no shoes, clothing, TV's , exercise bikes or treadmills.

Male volunteers are needed for the drop off dates listed above to help remove large or heavy items from vehicles.

Festival Pierogi & Piggie Making

Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 26th at 9 am for pierogies, June 9th from 9AM to 3PM to come out and help make piggies and June 23rd at 9 am for final pierogi making session for the festival. The more you can help, the quicker we finish up & have some lunch!!  Thank you in advance for your continued support at OLMC....

Festival Raffle Baskets

We are asking for volunteers to donate baskets for our Festival Raffle this year.  Suggested themes are coffee/tea, relaxation, candles, chocolate, cooking, car care, games, gardening, reading, movies, fun at the beach, and any other fun activity for summer. 
Please sign up for a basket at the bulletin board in the church or hall & specify the theme of the basket so I can know what to expect.  I will also call local businesses to ask for contributions for our baskets. 
If you know of or are aware of anyone who can contribute to a basket, please call me at 696-4927 and I would be happy to contact them.  Baskets will be collected June 23/24 and July 7/8 after masses in the hall.  Please feel free to call me with any questions:  Ellen Wilson.

The Back Mt. Catholic Junior High Youth Group will sponsor a Car Wash from 9AM to 12PM in the parking lot of St. Therese’s Church.  Cost is your donation and all proceeds will apply towards the youth group’s team goal for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

Camp St. Andrew, a resident camp for boys and girls will hold the following sessions for 2012…

  The Bishop's Pilgrimage to Washington, DC 

On Saturday, September 15,  2012 The Most Reverend Bishop Joseph C. Bambera, D.D.,J.C.L. Bishop of Scranton will lead his first pilgrimage as Diocesan Bishop to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Washington, DC.  The day will include opportunities for public as well as private prayer, confession, touring the National Shrine as well as the Campus of the Catholic University of America concluding with Mass. Bus fare is $40.00 per person made payable to OLMC with buses leaving from either our parish or our deanery.  To assure bus transportation it is requested by the bus company to hold strictly to a deadline of July 10th for reservations.  To make your reservation please contact OLMC Parish office @ 477-5040.
